What is the Layering concept for winter?
The changes in seasons affect most of our surroundings that also includes our wardrobe. We obviously feel the need to protect ourselves from the harsh cold temperatures of winter. Children in particular are more sensitive and intolerable to temperature changes. They need more cover on their bodies than the adults.
There is one technique which is usually employed to beat the cold; that is ‘Layering’. It simply means that you wear 2-3 clothes at the same time on you as one layer over the other. Depending on the level of harshness of the cold, you can even wear 4 layers of clothes. You get a lot more opportunity to show your creativity.
You can wear these multiple layers either of light clothes only or of thick and light clothes. One simple example of Kids Fashion is wearing a t-shirt over a shirt which itself is worn over a baniyan. Thus, in generally, layering can be like as follows:
- Base Layers, having mostly undergarments, t-shirts etc.
- Middle Layers, having mostly shirts, sweaters, vests etc.
- Top Layers, having jackets, coats etc.
There are some points to be considered while wearing the layers on the kids. The layers should not restrict the movements of the kids, especially those of the hands. The Boys Clothing should be such that the layers must be thin on the inside to thick on the outside and never vice-versa. The outfit that you will create, should have some meaning, you can’t just select random clothes and stack them together on you; that you can do only if you intent to stay indoors.
A lot of options are available for Kids Wear for the winter time. You can layer a T-shirt with a shirt and a jacket or you can wear a cardigan over a sweater and a jacket on top of it. Layering is also done on bottom wear. Kids can layer a jeans over a Bermuda which is worn over an under garment.
There are so many options for layering, they can even do layering for school. The outer school dress can contain thin vests, sweaters, baniyan etc. in it. Layering has opened up new avenues to explore new styles of clothing along with giving us protection from winter.
