How clothing impacts your child!
What you wear tells people who you are, without speaking a word. Undoubtedly clothing and sartorial preferences are a different language that speak volumes of your character and persona. How true is that we don’t know, but in a world that runs on perceptions; building the desirable perception around you is imperative because you also get influenced by it manifold. Therefore, it is very important that you dress your child well and inculcate in them the need to dress well. To wear the right clothes is not only a momentary phenomenon but a habit that impacts your personality in the longer run. Your kids are no different. The idea of dressing well, wearing bright & happy colours, to dress as per the occasion forms your identity. Clothing also determines a child’s psychology, discipline, mood, confidence and entire persona. Let us discuss a few aspects influenced by a child’s clothing.
Confidence: Your child is like a white blank canvas and how you paint it decides how the final piece of art will look. If you dress your child shabbily with creased clothes or clothes that are undersized or oversized then children don’t just feel uncomfortable but also inferior. Making them wear clothes that are flashy, fit them well and are trendy always keeps them in high spirits and energetic.
Happiness: Happiness is not always a relative notion, and definitely not for a child. It is important for a child to feel happy for his better physical and mental growth as everything in their world depends on how their mood is. Changing clothes in different phases of the day and making children wear clean and soft fabrics keep their mood refreshed.
Comfort: Just because your brother’s sister-in-law’s friend is getting married and they find your child cute, this in no way means that you will dress him or her in a blazer or a heavy gown in the heat of May. Children have a sensitive skin texture and an agile body which they like to play with. It is very important to ensure comfort for anything that we make our children wear.
Conduct: Ironed shirt, polished shoes, hygiene; everything has a direct connection with clothing. The habit of dressing that children learn, stay with them for their whole life. This also determines the care a child takes in conducting himself or herself well.
Imagination: Colourful clothes and trendy outfits always keep a child’s mood bright and imagination alive. That is exactly why greys and browns should be not encouraged much in children wear. Flowers, prints, cartoons and new design always keep your child positive.
The important thing is that we put in some thoughts as to what our children should wear. It is good if your child’s elder cousins hand over clothes that don’t fit them but your child should never feel that you didn’t buy him what he or she wanted.
