Tips to celebrate a safe Holi with your kids
Holi is one of India’s favourite festivals of all. It is a festival of colour and is a favourite amongst kids. Kids enjoy this festival by playing around with their water guns, water balloons and splashes. But one must be careful while playing Holi with respect to safety of children, as use of water balloons, guns, and colours can cause many serious injuries. Here are a few tips to celebrate a safe Holi with your kids or to even let your little ones play it safely with their friends:
Use Eco-Friendly Colours
Use of colours is the core of Holi festival. But the same thing can turn on you and your kids if not used properly. Usually, colours are made up of harmful chemicals and can cause irritation and rashes on your kid's skin and eyes. To avoid such situations, avoid any harmful toxic colours and spread the use of eco-friendly colours for your kids and also in their surroundings.
Keeping your Kids Safe
Keeping your kids safe is an important aspect. Along with basking in the spirit of the festival, it is very important to keep a simple eye on your kids as they might injure themselves while playing.
Safe use of Water Guns & Pichkaris
Holi is incomplete without water guns and pichkaris. It is the only time when you can draw the water through the guns and spray and play with it. But these guns and pichkaris can also get dangerous due to their pointed snouts. To avoid this, you must teach your child its safe usage.
Ban Water Balloons
Throwing water balloons on each other can be a fun activity during Holi, but in actuality, they should be rigorously banned from using as they can cause severe injuries to kids.
Skin & Hair Care
Your kids’ skin is sensitive and might react to some of the elements during Holi. The colours stains left on the skin cause irritation. To avoid this, apply a nice layer of coconut or olive oil on your kid's body. You can also apply an additional layers of skin care products to avoid sunburns while playing. Another care routine to be followed is to safeguard the hair by applying a nice amount of oil before the night of Holi and also on the day of Rangapanchmi.
The main tip to remember is that your child should be covered properly through breathable clothing, which covers all the areas on his body and lets him move freely.
